AlgaleX is a biotechnology startup founded with the mission of “supplying DHA without depleting fish resources.” Its core technology is Touji-24, which is AI-driven cultivation control system. By utilizing this AI, the company enables stable fermentation and scalable production even when using raw materials with significant quality fluctuations, such as food processing residues.
The company has already established commercial-scale production of algae (“Uma-mo”) using awamori distillery by-products, one of Okinawa’s major food waste streams. In collaboration with various manufacturers, AlgaleX is actively promoting the social implementation of this AI-based biotechnology platform.
